Wehrheim Warmbloods

Medicine River Horse Farm is currently home to two different types of Wehrheim Warmbloods. The original line started with the purchase of Gizmo in 1997.  Gizmo was sired by a Thoroughbred named Ten Yard Star and a Belgian/Quarter Horse mare named Stetson.  Stetson's big bones and size proved to be an excellent cross with Ten Yard Star.  All of their foals (Gizmo, Mystic, & Mookie) have proven to be successful sporthorses in dressage, eventing, and foxhunting.

In 1999, we purchased a Ten Yard Star, Quarter Horse cross.  Rose caught our eye immediately with her style and personality.  She was full of life and did extremely well with her training.  In 2001, we had the good fortune of acquiring her older sister Velvet.  Velvet was a lot of fun to train and she is currenlty being used in 4-H, dressage, and trail riding.

We purchased our last Ten Yard Star foals in 2001.  Sassy is out of a Clydesdale named Sadie.  Sassy has a great personality and currently is being used for dressage and trail riding.  Buttons had a very tough start in life, but recovered quickly and kept his dam, Susie (Standardbred), busy keeping him out of trouble.  Button's, like all of the foals, captured a lot of Ten Yard Star's personality and athleticism in their minds and bodies, but all were unique and fun to work with.

Sadie Clydesdale

Prancer and Lady are our newest Wehrheim Warmbloods.  Both are out of our Clydesdale mare, Sadie, and by our Thoroughbred stallion, El Corazon.  We are very pleased with this cross and enjoy watching them develop.  Both should be ideal sporthorses with their solid physique, smooth gaits, and athleticism.
